Background:
The Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN)-Sekretariat is the nerve center of ASEAN, a regional Inter-governmental organization 1967, for peace and stability, sustained economic growth, founded to promote shared prosperity and social progress. It consists of the ten countries of Southeast Asia.
Entry into force of the ASEAN Charter on 15 December 2008 ASEAN integration efforts had required impet newly deployed us to establish a legal and institutional framework, to achieve the ASEAN community by 2015. These include the newly approved organizational structure of the ASEAN secretariat, the requirements of the Charter and the three drafts of the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC), ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) is aligned. The ASEAN secretariat is therefore well positioned, to the necessary functions required to support provide to the community-building process in the context of the Charter and the plans.
Public relations and the civil society Division (oxygen concentrators) the ASEAN secretariat is responsible for the implementation of the ASEAN secretariat media and strategies effectively communicate the objectives and principles of ASEAN as well as the mission, vision communication and core principles of the ASEAN secretariat to a public address.
A technical officer (TO) for media is a Highly-skilled, specialist staff, the technical offers Research-based and administrative support for the external communication of the Secretariat, in particular, but not limited to written materials to stakeholders, such as the members of the media, civil society and the science of the general public.

Duties and responsibilities:
1. Edit design and timely public information materials such as press releases, bulletins, media statements, forewords and speeches of Secretary-General of the ASEAN, fact sheets, overviews, and media advisories;
2. Ensure optimum dissemination and media advisories and turnout of journalists at media briefings, conferences and other events;
3. Provide editorial and creative inputs, textual and visual content from the official website of the ASEAN, to improve social media platforms and other online media;
4. Daily news monitor and report on the results and analysis;
(5) Source for national, regional and international media ways to promote ASEAN, their work, their relations with their ASEAN dialogue partners, as well as members of other groups and Follow-up on these opportunities to materialization;
6. Provide editorial and creative input for ASEAN secretariat publications, such as the annual report and Ad-hoc publications;
7. Interact with the members of the media and requests for information and interviews;
8. Work closely together with the ASEAN Member States in the capitals and their permanent missions to ASEAN in Jakarta, to coordinate ASEAN dialogue partners, members of other groups, diplomatic communities and other external parties, programmes/projects in the media.
9. Offer inputs to improve the capacity of the media and other relevant tools as an effective channel for the communication and dissemination of information to the public of ASEAN activities; and
10. Function as Deputy webmaster and Assistant photographer.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree preferably in journalism, linguistics, literature, mass communication, or other similar disciplines;
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in journalism and editorial work or in an Office media and communication with proven track record in the design and implementation of public communication activities.
• Proven excellence in written and spoken English language, regardless of the use of the local language may be necessary when interacting with the local members of the media, partners and stakeholders;
• Knowledge of website management, social media platforms and photography; as well as by the use of modern Audio-, night mission and Photo-editing technologies;
• Thorough understanding of the international and regional issues and knowledge of the ASEAN ideal; and learn a lot of interest and initiative;
• Exposure a wide range of corporate affairs, community relations and public communications networks in the work experience of the past, and the ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships with the various parties;
• Familiarity with diplomatic practices and Protocol and experience in dealing with senior Government and international organization officials.
• Sensitivity to accuracy as well as information and capacity for Proof-reading;
• Skills and technical knowledge to explore and collect data; and
• Ability to see deadlines press to work.

General qualifications:
COMPUTER skills and expertise in using Microsoft Office Tools; Ability, Multi-task, working hours as long and irregular, and run tasks occur outside of normal job; Ability to effectively, independently and as part of a team function. and the willingness to travel frequently in the short term.

Compensation and use:
Successful candidates are offered the post with a trial period of six months and monthly salary according to his personal qualifications from IDR 5,000,000.
