Inmarsat, the leading operator of satellite services of Mobile (MSS) of the world (headquartered in London, United Kingdom) is looking for a professional of great talent and enthusiasm to join its subsidiary Indonesia, PT ISAT.
This position is located in the Office of Batam, Sekupang and submit a report to the Chief Engineer for UT - Batam. The type of employment is permanent.
Engineer of Terminal user GSPS
Primary purpose of position:
INMARSAT Global satellite phone services (GSPS) was released in mid-2010 the Inmarsat-4 satellite. It provides phone service via satellite around the world for the communication of voice, sms and data/fax. The engineering of the user's Terminal equipment has participated fully in the development and operations of the GSPS. At this time, the Terminal of the user in Batam engineering team works focused on aspects of management of life cycle of the product, product improvement, improvements of products, accessories and more developments in the phone and services. The team is also responsible for the technical aspects for access to new markets. This is includes the national type-approval and certification in countries around the world.
The candidate will join the Department of engineering of user Batam's Terminal. The Department plays a key role in the delivery of new products and services described above. The engineer will participate in the development, verification, testing, systems integration and operational aspects of any terminal development.
Key responsibilities of the position:
The main responsibilities of the position include:
• Identify and resolve anomalies user terminals
• Participate in tests to ensure compliance with the requirements for verification and approval.
• Collaboration with other individuals and groups within Inmarsat (in London and elsewhere) in the improvement of existing products and services and support of existing services.
• Definition of test plans, test procedures and test the GSPS network with all new terminals.
• Testing accessories compatibility.
• Conduct field tests where it is necessary to validate the service or specific requirements.
Essential knowledge and skills:
• Degree in electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the related field...
• Protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, PPP) data communications
• Expertise in mobile communications (GSM, GPRS, LTE)
• Knowledge in satellite communications systems
• Knowledge in software development and engineering techniques
• Experience in testing and verification of systems of data communication equipment
• Self-motivated, has initiative strong and able to work independently.
• Promotes harmonious and effective long term working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Desirable knowledge and skills:
• Knowledge of the GSPS Inmarsat system.
• Knowledge of (transmitter, GMSK) modulation schemes.
• Knowledge of hardware development.
• Knowledge of DSP implementation and architecture.
• Good knowledge of RF / IF measures and testing methods.
• Experience to carry out field tests
• Experience in the development of automated test tools to support the project.
Sphere of influence of the position:
The work should be integrated or coordinated with a wide range of other activities, inside and outside Inmarsat, which can be very diverse nature. Work requires regular and sometimes extensive travel (domestic and foreign) local of the manufacturer, as well as flexibility in working hours to communicate regularly with the teams from other countries
